Minutes of public hearing Monday, July 13th, 2026 for variance request in accordance with Floodplain Management Ordinance 156 for a detached garage building at 711 Shannon St.
The City of Missouri City, Missouri Council held a public hearing on Monday July 13th, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the MCCA Building. Attending: Mayor Woody Owen, Clerk Julie Freeman, Council members Mickey Stewart (Ward One), Amy Jeffries (Ward Two), Jan Kohl (Ward Three), Brian Adcock (Ward Four) and city residents.
Mayor Owen called the hearing to order. Mayor Owen read the variance request to build a detached garage at grade and the non-conversion agreement submitted by Gary McGee. There were no questions or concerns from the council. Mayor Owen requested a motion to move to the public comment. Motion to move to public comment was made by council person Adcock and seconded by council person Stewart and passed with a 4-0 vote.
Citizens Laura Miller and Theresa Adams expressed support in favor of the council approving the variance request at 711 Shannon St.
Mayor Owen asked for a roll call vote to grant the requested variance to the garage building at 711 Shannon St to be built at grade.
