On Tuesday March 10th, 2026 at 7:22 PM a rotating cloud that triggered a tornado warning passed just north of Missouri City. As reported by many residents and council members our warning sirens did not activate during the tornado warning issued by the National Weather Service. After calling the Clay County Sheriffs Department and Fishing River Fire Department it was reported that multiple sirens in Clay County did not activate for the tornado warning. The problem that caused the lack of communication to the sirens is being investigated. The central dispatch office plans to conduct a test of the system on Wednesday March 18th at 11:00 AM.
