Minutes of public hearings Monday, November 24th, 2025 for proposed Floodplain Management Ordinance 157 and Variance Request for a detached garage at 711 Shannon St.
The City of Missouri City, Missouri Council was going to hold a continuation of public hearing on Monday November 24th, 2025 at 6:30 PM at the MCCA Building. Attending: Mayor Woody Owen, Clerk Julie Freeman, Council members Mickey Stewart (Ward One), Amy Jeffries (Ward Two), Jan Kohl (Ward Three), Brian Adcock (Ward Four), a few city residents.
Mayor Owen explained that instead of the normal 15-day notice needed for most hearings, previous ordinance 142 stated 20 days were needed for any updates to this specific ordinance. As the 20-day notice was not met, a hearing on ordinance 157 was not formalized and is only a discussion. No motions or vote was allowed. A draft addendum to 142 that outlines all differences between ordinances 142 and the proposed ordinance 157 will be available for review at the post office, or upon request. Additional discussions regarding possible dates for hearings will be heard at the next city council meeting on December 8th.
