Minutes of 9/10/12 meeting of Missouri City, MO, City Council
The Missouri City, MO, City Council held its monthly meeting at 7:30 pm on 9/10/12 at City Hall. Those attending: Mayor Pro-Tem/Councilman Barry Moore, Councilman Joe Selle and Councilman Monte Railey.

The City has also not yet received billing for August Sheriff Patrol and fuel for three officers.
Councilman Selle made motion to pay known bills. Councilman Railey seconded. The motion passed.
OLD BUSINESS:
Councilman Selle advised Council of repairs to top of steep hill on Broadway. Drop off filled in with rock.
Councilman Moore (as Mayor Pro-Tem) and Councilman Railey (as Acting City Clerk) reported on 8/27/10 meeting with Clay County Clerk Sandy Baldwin to sign contract for County to collect City taxes for 2012-2015.
They also met with AGC Engineering the same day regarding status of the water project. Art Aiken with AGC advised that the project is on schedule and that more financial details should be available in October. We are waiting for estimated construction costs minus pending Grant money to determine amount City will have to borrow. These factors will help determine end user rate increases. AGC recommended the City consider raising water rates in anticipation of post project increase Barry Moore will check with City Attorney regarding procedures and guidelines to raise rates.
Mayor Moore responded online to a FEMA Levee Questionaire. Acting City Clerk Railey responded via phone to a letter dated 7/16/12 from FEMA Regional Director Richard Leonard regarding the FEMA Levee Analysis. The project is on hold at least through September of 2012 and no further action is required by the city at this time.
NEW BUSINESS:
Barry Moore is composing a letter to go to city residents explaining new water shutoff procedures.
Barry will investigate new water billing programs to replace the 14 year old current version.
