Minutes of January 14/2019 Council Meeting
The Missouri City, Missouri, City Council held their monthly open meeting at the MCCA Building on Monday, January 14th, 2019, at 7:00 pm. Attending: Mayor Barry Moore, City Treasurer Lisa Webber, City Treasurer trainee Lindsay Eppley, City Clerk Monte Railey, Water Bill Collector Brandon Gray and Council members Joe Selle, Rockne Gross, Micah Schake and Sydney Stewart. Also in attendance: Wilbur Webber.
Mayor Moore called the meeting to order. Minutes from the December 10th, 2018, meeting were read and approved. Financial reports for December were reviewed and approved.

Councilman Gross made a motion to authorize payments. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Stewart and carried 4-0.
Old Business
Streetlights – Councilman Schake will follow up with KCP&L regarding City request to add a new streetlight on Walnut Street north of M210 and another on Gano Street south of Main.
Water Project – Aspects of the approval process are on hold due to lack of USDA personnel during the Federal government shutdown. City Attorney Steven Wolcott is continuing work on right of way acquisition.
Computer upgrade for City Clerk – The HP Laptop purchased for City Clerk work is being set up. Files containing City Council agendas, meeting minutes and public notices from January 2013 forward have been transferred.
City Sales Tax – City Attorney Steven Wolcott is researching and drafting a proposal to implement a one percent City Sales Tax with the goal of having it on the April 2nd, 2019 ballot. He is also working on requirements for a City Business License.
Stop sign at Walnut and Stillhouse Road – MoDot is responsible for replacing the downed stop sign and has been notified per Mayor Moore. The downed speed limit sign just east of the intersection is the City’s responsibility. The sign was saved and will be replanted.
New Business
Councilman Gross and Mayor Moore commended Joe Selle for street clearing during recent winter storms.
The next Council meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Monday, February 11th, 2019 at the MCCA Building.
Councilman Schake made a motion to adjourn that was seconded by Councilwoman Stewart. Meeting adjourned.
