Minutes of 01/12/2026 Public Hearing for Ordinance 156 Missouri City, Missouri
The Missouri City, Missouri, City Council met at 5:30 pm on Monday, January 12th, 2026 at the MCCA Building for a public hearing to establish city ordinance 156 as an amendment to ordinance 142. Those attending: Mayor Woody Owen, Clerk Julie Freeman and Council members Mickey Stewart, Jan Kohl, Brian Adcock and Amy Jeffries plus residents Corey Freeman and Danny Bush.
Mayor Owen called the hearing to order. An amendment to ordinance 142 regarding floodplain management is recommended to address variance procedures and penalties for violation procedures.
The new ordinance was read in full twice by mayor Owen and was then opened for discussion to the council, then citizens. No additional questions or concerns were identified concerning the written ordinance 156. A motion to adopt ordinance 156 was requested by councilperson Jeffries and was seconded by councilperson Stewart. It was then taken to a call out vote with the following passing results:
Ward I Mickey Stewart – Yes
Ward II Amy Jeffries – Yes
Ward III Jan Kohl – Yes
Ward IV Brian Adcock – Yes
