Request for copy of Ordinance 142 and proposed Ordinance 157

The City of Missouri City, Missouri held a public hearing on 11/19/25 to read twice and vote on a proposed revised Floodplain Management Ordinance 157. It did not pass after residents expressed concern that the new ordinance was different in ways that could not be compared to the prior Floodplain Ordinance 142. Multiple requests were made to have both ordinances made public to compare. Any resident wanting an electronic file of both ordinances can have a copy by emailing the mayor at powen@missouricitymo.gov and copies of Ordinance 142, proposed Ordinance 157 and the FIRM Flood Insurance Rate Map panel 256 of 350 have been posted at the Post office.

Ward 4 Representative

Due to a misunderstanding it was reported in the November minutes that Brian Adcock had resigned his Ward 4 council position. Brian Adcock has not resigned and wishes to continue his representing Ward 4.

The tentative dates for the road work on St. Bernard Hill, southern portion of Broadway and Talley Alley has changed to Monday November 24th and Tuesday November 25th.

Notice of public hearing

The City of Missouri City, Missouri will hold a public hearing on Wednesday 11/19/2025 at 7:00 PM at the MCCA Building 309 Main St. Missouri City, Missouri 64072. A request for a Floodplain variance of a proposed garage will be heard for the property at 711 Shannon St. Missouri City, Missouri 64072. Legal description of the property, All of the south half of one acre of land, a part of the southwest quarter of section nine (9), township fifty- one (51), range thirty (30), being known as a part of lot number two (2) in Foley’s survey, Foley’s Addition, Missouri City, Missouri. All interested persons shall be given an opportunity to be heard at the public hearing.

Notice of public hearing

The City of Missouri City, Missouri will hold a public hearing on Wednesday 11/19/2025 at 6:30 PM at the MCCA Building, 309 Main St. Missouri City, Missouri 64072. Flood Plain Management Ordinance 157 Pursuant to 44CFR § 60.3(d) will be read two times and voted on by the Missouri City, Missouri Council. The purpose of the ordinance is to update the FEMA requirements of existing ordinances for floodplain management. All interested persons shall be given an opportunity to be heard at the public hearing.
