Minutes of 9/25/26 Public Tax Levy Hearing for Missouri City, Missouri
The Missouri City, Missouri, City Council met at 7:30 pm on Friday, September 25th, 2026 at the MCCA Building for a public hearing to establish the 2026 city tax levy. Those attending: Mayor Woody Owen, Clerk Julie Freeman and Council members Mickey Stewart via phone, Jan Kohl, and Brian Adcock and resident Cory Freeman.
Mayor Owen called the public tax levy hearing to order.
The State of Missouri set the tax ceiling at $.6623 per $100.00 assessment. Ordinance #2026 was read twice in entirety by Mayor Owen. Mayor Owen asked the council if there were any questions or comments about the tax assessment. No council members made comment. Mayor Owen asked if there were any public comments or questions. None were raised. Mayor Owen asked for a motion to accept by Ordinance to set the tax ceiling at $.6623 per $100.00 assessment. Council person Adcock made a motion to adopt Ordinance #2026 to set the 2026 Tax levy at $.6623, or as modified by the Hancock Amendment Rollback Form RSMO 137.073. Council person Kohl seconded the motion and it passed by a vote of 3-0.
