Missouri City Planning and Zoning Meeting
The Missouri City Planning and Zoning Commission held an organizational meeting at 6:30 PM on July 22nd, 2025 at the MCCA Building 309 Main St. Missouri City, Missouri.
In attendance commissioners;

Commissioners Mason McGilton and Ryan Abbett were unavailable.
Mayor Owen provided a list of organization tasks for the commission of;
Electing a chair, electing a secretary, setting frequency of meetings, structure of meetings and structure for public hearings including rules for public notice.
On the question of electing a chair, John Tenant nominated Bobby Jeffries as Chairperson of the commission. No other nominations were made. A vote was taken.

On the question of electing a secretary for the commission, John Tenant nominated Monte Railey for secretary.

On the question of when to set regular meetings and structure, the commission discussed and decided on the following; The first Tuesday of the third, sixth, ninth and twelfth month of each year. At 6:30 PM at the MCCA building 309 Main St. Missouri City, Missouri.
Regular meetings to be structured with the Chair calling the meeting to order, roll call of commissioners in attendance, old business, new business, confirming next meeting, adding any special meetings or hearings and adjourn.
On the question of public hearings the law of 15 day advance notice will be followed and publication of notice will be paid by the Missouri City Council. All members of the commission will be allowed to vote.
The structure of hearings will be the chair calling the hearing to order, roll call of commissioners in attendance. Recognition of the party presenting zoning requests to speak. Time for questions by commissioners, at the close of commissioners questions, time for citizens to speak by name, address, for or against the proposal and comments limited in time as determined by the chair. At conclusion of public commentary, a roll call of votes. The vote to be read by the secretary. The Chair will adjourn the meeting. The secretary will write a report to the City Council.
The next meeting was confirmed as Tuesday September 2nd, 2025 at 6:30 to be held at the MCCA building 309 Main St.
No hearings were scheduled at this time as the party who made a request for approval of a sporting goods store and gun range withdrew the request.
Chair Bobby Jeffries adjourned the meeting.
