Old Business
City Phone Changes: Per Councilperson Jan Kohl final steps are in motion to establish the new number (816-750-4203) and service via Verizon. A phone has been received and Jan will work on the set up in December. New phone number will be updated on the webpage by Woody. The name on the account will be Missouri City, MO Clerk and will also appear as such when it is called. Billing will be sent to the PO Box 264.
Website and IT Support: CIO Paul “Woody” Owen discussed with the group a plan to set .gov email addresses for City officials with a MissouriCityMo.gov ending. There will be a clerk@missouricitymo.gov and watercollector@missouricitymo.gov address as well.
Mayor Moore is requesting a second credit card for city purchases.
Evergy Requests: Councilperson Kohl has finally received help from Tanya with Evergy to replace 2 lights in town and replace a flashing bulb on Walnut. No timeline for the repair was offered.
Tree Trimming along Public Roads: Plans are to continue through the winter as weather permits. Mayor Moore contacted the Padgett Brothers who gave a bid of $15,000.00 that will take a week and go back 15 foot from the road. This was a bit too much at this time. City will try to tackle the project on weekends throughout the weekend and request help for larger trees later on.
Community Calendar: Positions up for election are ward 1, 3 and mayor for a 2 year term and ward 2 for a 1 year term. City Clerk Railey will be accepting nominations from December 10th-31st. Notification has been posted on the city website, The Standard newspaper, and the post office in town.
New Business
Mayor Moore has stated a need for new shelving in the pole barn and that the stand for the salt truck spreader needs to be modified. He expects this will cost the city approximately $1500. The salt spreader has been fixed and is ready for the winter!
Thank you Monte Railey for your service to the city as council person and city clerk!!
The next monthly Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 13th, 2025 at 6:30 pm in the MCCA Building.
Meeting adjourned.
