Minutes of 9/23/24 Public Tax Levy Hearing for Missouri City, Missouri
The Missouri City, Missouri, City Council met at 6:30 pm on Monday, September 25th, 2024, at the MCCA Building for a public hearing to establish the 2024 city tax levy. Those attending: Mayor Barry Moore, Clerk Monte Railey and Council members Mickey Stewart, Jan Kohl and Johanna Davis plus residents Julie Freeman, Bob Tarver and Belinda Tarver. Councilperson Joe Selle was not available.
The State of Missouri set the tax ceiling at $.7753 per $100.00 assessment. Ordinance #2024 was read once in entirety and twice by title by Mayor Moore. Councilwoman Kohl made a motion to adopt Ordinance #2024 to set the 2024 levy at $.7753, or as modified by the Hancock Amendment Rollback Form RSMO 137.138. Councilman Stewart seconded the motion and it passed by a vote of 3-0.
