Minutes of March 9th, 2020, Council Meeting
The Missouri City, Missouri, City Council held their monthly open meeting at the MCCA Building on Monday, March 9th, 2020, at 7:00 pm. Attending: Clerk Monte Railey, Collector Brandon Gray and Council members Sydney Stewart, Joe Selle, Rockne Gross and Micah Schake. Resident Cassidy Russell was also present.
Mayor Moore came by prior to the meeting and signed checks, but left due to illness. Councilman Gross served as Mayor Pro-tem and called the meeting to order. Minutes of the February 13th, 2020, monthly meeting were read and approved. Financial reports were not available due to the changes with the Treasurer.
Bills to be allowed
General Fund:
Monte Railey – $236.98 February salary City Clerk
Joe Selle – $321.38 twenty-nine hours
Joe Selle – $160.00 reimbursement for gas and Hanna Rubber
Waterworks:
PWSD #4 – $2,852.72 water
Jim Talley – $345.13 February salary Meter Reader plus in/out fees
Brandon Gray – $678.31 February salary Collector, 33.38 additional hours and 69 miles
Lindsay Eppley – $433.94 February salary Treasurer
Truss – $100.00 transfer of Treasurer bond to Deanna Hufford
Councilwoman Stewart made a motion to pay the bills that was seconded by Councilman Schake. The motion passed 4-0.
Old Business
Water Project: Easement right of ways have been obtained and AGC Engineering is preparing to put the project up for bidding. MARC is completing a document regarding Tribal concerns.
City Treasurer: Deanna Hufford has been hired as the new City Treasurer. The Treasurer’s files, computer and printer were transferred to Deanna on March 7, 2020. Due to this transition, water bills for March will be mailed late with fees waived again. The City expects normal water bill mailings to resume in April.
Spring Election: City Clerk Railey reminded the meeting of the Spring election on Tuesday, April 7th, 2020. Council seats for Wards Two and Four will be on the ballot that day as well as countywide Proposition “C “, regarding a plan to establish a new Clay County Constitution.
New Business
Cassidy Russell with PERC advised the Council that the planned Spaghetti dinner scheduled for March 24th at the school has been changed to a taco night. She also asked permission to use the MCCA Building April 17 through 19 for a PERC sponsored clothing drive. The Council agreed to the request.
The next open monthly Council meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 14th, 2020, at the MCCA Building.
Councilman Schake made a motion to adjourn that was seconded by Councilwoman Stewart. Meeting adjourned.
