Minutes of September 26th, 2019, Special Meeting
The Missouri City, Missouri, City Council met in special session at 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 26th, 2019, at the MCCA Building. Attending: Mayor Barry Moore, City Clerk Monte Railey, Council members Sydney Stewart, Rockne Gross and Micah Schake. Councilman Joe Selle was absent.
Mayor Moore called the hearing to order and read Ordinance 148 (An Ordinance To Extend The City Limits Of The City Of Missouri City, Missouri For Certain Property Owned By Missouri City Acquisition, LLC) once in entirety and twice by title. Exhibit A (the legal description provided with the voluntary annexation petition) was reviewed once more by the Council. Councilman Gross made a motion to approve Ordinance 148 as read that was seconded by Councilwoman Stewart. The Ordinance carried by a vote of 3-0. Mayor Moore will take copies pf the Ordinance (with Exhibit A attached) to the Clay County Board of Election Commissioners, Clay County Mapping, The Clay County Clerk and the Clay County Assessor for implementation.
Next, Councilwoman Stewart presented a sample form letter to send to vendors advising them the City is seeking bids to provide manual and automated curbside trash pickup and options for recycling services effective January 1st, 2020. The Councilwoman has identified eight potential providers to request proposals from by end of business October 14th. The Council agreed to award a contract no later than the December 9th, 2019 monthly meeting. The current contract with Waste Management expires on December 31st. The letters will be mailed this week.
Mayor Moore adjourned the meeting. The next monthly Council meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Monday, October 14th, 2019, at the MCCA Building.
