Minutes of December 10th, 2018 Council Meeting
The Missouri City, Missouri, City Council held their monthly open meeting at the MCCA Building on Monday, December 10th 12th, at 7:00 pm. Attending: Mayor Barry Moore, City Treasurer Lisa Webber, City Clerk Monte Railey, Water Bill Collector Brandon Gray and Council members Joe Selle, Rockne Gross, Micah Schake and Sydney Stewart. Also in attendance: Wilbur Webber.
Mayor Moore called the meeting to order. Minutes from the November 12th, 2018, meeting were read and approved. Financial reports for November were reviewed and approved.
City Treasurer trainee Lindsay Eppley was introduced to the gathering by Mayor Moore.

Councilman Gross made a motion to authorize payments. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Stewart and carried 4-0.
Old Business
Mayor Moore announced Woods Street as the first to have ditches cleared.
Spring 2019 Election – City Clerk Railey advised the group of the December 11th through January 15th, 2019 filing period for the positions of Mayor and Wards One and Three Councilpersons for the April 2nd, 2019 City election.
Streetlights – KCP&L is reviewing the City request to add a new streetlight on Walnut Street north of M210 and another on Gano Street south of Main.
Water Project –The Missouri Department of Natural resources (MO DNR) and The Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) have approved plans for the project. The City will now begin filling out construction applications and City Attorney Wolcott is continuing work on right of way acquisition.
Computer upgrade for City Clerk – The purchase of the Acer laptop for City Clerk duties will be completed this week. Brandon Gray will assist with set up and file transfers.
City Sales Tax – Mayor Moore advised the Council that City Attorney Steven Wolcott recommended pursuing a 1% City Sales Tax and is drafting a proposal with the goal of having it on the April 2nd, 2019 ballot.
The power plant on the west edge of town was demolished recently. The tower remains but will come down in January 2019 according to Mayor Moore. Most of the property is within the City limits.
New Business
Councilman Rockne Gross commended Joe Selle for street clearing during recent winter storms.
The next Council meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Monday, January 14th, 2019 at the MCCA Building.
Councilman Gross made a motion to adjourn that was seconded by Councilwoman Stewart. Meeting adjourned.
