Minutes of January 18th, 2018, Council Meeting
The Missouri City, Missouri City Council held their monthly open meeting at the MCCA Building on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 7:00 pm. Attending: Mayor Barry Moore, City Treasurer Lisa Webber, City Clerk Monte Railey, Water Bill Collector Brandon Gray and Council members Joe Selle, Micah Schake and Sydney Stewart. Councilman Rocky Gross was absent. Also in attendance: Wilbur Webber.
Mayor Moore called the meeting to order.
Minutes from December 11th, 2017, meeting and December 2017 financial reports were read and approved.
Bills to be allowed: Paid 1/18/18 unless otherwise noted.

Councilwoman Stewart made a motion to authorize payments. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schake and carried 3-0.
Old Business
Water Project – The USDA loan application has made it through the initial USDA level and has been forwarded to the State USDA office and then to the Federal level for further approval. That is expected to take about six weeks. After approval, design, bidding and a public meeting will be scheduled. No response was received from letters dated 12/11/17 that were sent to fifteen Native American Tribal Entities verifying that the proposed water project does not interfere with tribal gravesites or historical areas.
Mayor Moore confirmed to the Council that the City is not responsible for water damage to Linda Young’s house. The City did commit to clearing ditches at the south end of Stillhouse Road to prevent water on the street in the future.
City Hall – Councilman Schake advised the gathering that, weather permitting, he plans to continue exterior repairs to City Hall on Saturday, January 27th, 2018.
New speed limits signs will be installed this month according to the Mayor.
New Business
The local Girl Scout troop will be establishing a community food pantry to be located in the foyer of the Post Office.
The next Council meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Monday, February 12th, 2018, at the MCCA Building.
